One of the three major glacial Northern Italy, Lake Maggiore offers atmospheres similar to those of Lake Como, but perhaps a bit more airy. Its northern tip is located in Switzerland. Such as Lake Como, Lake Maggiore also offers fascinating town, including Angera, Arona, Stresa, Verbania, Laveno, Baveno and more. In front of Stresa there are the three Borromean Islands, each of which is home to monuments, villas and gardens of great value. There are numerous villas, especially Villa Taranto, Villa Pallavicini in Stresa, the two Borromeo Palaces on the Madre Island and Bella Island.
Lake Maggiore is easily reached by train ( Trenitalia). Once there you can reach the different towns by boat or hydrofoil.
