 Pavia is a town of great historical and artistic interest, rich in religious monuments (such as the Duomo, the Basilica of San Michele Maggiore, the church San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro, the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, the Church of Sts), and civilians (the covered bridge on the Ticino river, the fourteenth-century castle of Mirabello and many other palaces). It is also home to one of the oldest universities in Europe.
Finally, just outside the city, in direction Milan, there is also the fantastic Certosa of Pavia.
