From 23 May to 13 October 2019 the prestigious venues of the Orangerie of Villa Reale and the Civic Museums of Monza host an itinerary of over seventy works, which retraces a history of tradition and innovation, of progress and beauty, of creativity and development rooted in Monza and its territory is typical of its collecting.
The exhibition is promoted by the Cariplo Foundation and by the Foundation of the Community of Monza and Brianza onlus, in partnership with Gallerie d'Italia and Fondazione Luigi Rovati, in collaboration with the Municipality of Monza, the Civic Museums of Monza and the Royal Palace of Monza, with MiBACT patronage - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and of the Province of Monza and Brianza and with the contribution of the Lombardy Region. The exhibition is the eighth stage of the Open initiative, a tour of exhibition events that is bringing the artistic heritage of the Milanese institution throughout Lombardy, in the provinces of Novara and Verbano Cusio Ossola. The exhibition is the living testimony of a collective commitment to culture and the widest appreciation of the local heritage of skills, excellence and traditions. An exhibition of over 70 works reveals the variety, richness and quality of the art collections of the Cariplo Foundation, of prestigious museum and cultural institutions - the Civic Museums of Monza, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone, the Luigi Rovati Foundation and Assolombarda Confindustria Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lodi and private collections. The exhibition is curated by Martina Corgnati, art historian, with the collaboration of Lucia Molino, Head of the Cariplo Foundation Collection.
