The church of the Saints Charles and Vitale at the Abbesses was built at the turn of the sixteenth and seventeenth century, at that time at the center of what were the Cascine the abbesses of the monastery of St. Augustine, in which the purpose was the cultivation of fields, orchards and vineyards furrowed by rivers and channels.
It comes as a small church with a single nave and is home to a late Baroque altar. Internally it is divided into four sections and covered with a barrel vault roof and two pioventi. On the east angle there is a small square bell tower. The interior walls are adorned and painted (mostly from Moray). The large late Baroque altar is located in front of an fake apse painted on the walls behind.
The facade, although very simple, is not devoid of a certain solemnity, especially in proportion to the small size of the building.
The church is a testimony of a Milan which doesn't exist any more, and definitely worth a visit.
