The Galleries of Italy and the Poldi Pezzoli Museum present from 26 October 2018 to 17 March 2019 Romanticism, curated by Fernando Mazzocca, the first exhibition dedicated to the Italian contribution to the movement that radically changed the sensitivity and the imagination of the Western world during the first half of the nineteenth century.
Romanticism intends to focus on the Romantic Milan, to discover the places and characters that made it the Italian capital of the movement, both as regards the figurative arts and on the literary and musical side.
200 works by Italian and foreign artists, from Hayez to Corot, from Turner to Molteni, are inserted, and so explained, in comparison with the lively cultural debate between England, France and the countries of the North, especially Germany and the Austrian Empire, in the years ranging from the Congress of Vienna to the revolutions that in 1848 shook the old continent.
Cost of the ticket: € 10 access to a single location of the exhibition, € 7 access to the second office (upon presentation of the first admission ticket)
