The prestigious halls of the Villa Reale in Monza, from 10 April to 29 September 2019, host 150 works from the Herakleidon Museum of Athens to celebrate the artistic career of one of the greatest exponents of the Belle Époque: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
Paris, late nineteenth century: the bohemian life, the artists of Montmartre, the Moulin Rouge, the theaters, the humorous magazines, the prostitutes. This is the captivating world of Toulouse-Lautrec, a genius who became known above all for his advertising posters and portraits of characters that marked an epoch while remaining impressed in the collective imagination.
Posters, lithographs, drawings, illustrations, watercolors, along with videos, photographs and period furnishings reconstruct a cross-section of bohemian Paris, bringing visitors back in time.
